EU Login FAQ

How do I create an EU LOGIN account?

If you want to use AGM, you have to create an account with the European Commission Authentication Service EU Login. To use the obligatory two factor authentication register also your mobile phone in your EU-Login account.

After you register with EU Login, you will have an EU Login ID and password.

Use your EU Login ID and password to access AGM together with an additional security check to your mobile phone (there are several options described in the EU-Login user guide).

Please note, AGM will send important information to the email address you use to create your EU Login account. If you change your email address, update it in your EU-Login account.

For troubleshooting tips, check the EU-Login help pages.

How to register a new phone or phone number in my EU Login account?

To register a new phone, start by removing any previous, inaccessible mobile phones (if you still have access to one of the registered devices or eIDs, it isn't necessary to delete all devices but then EU Login will require you to use a 2nd factor to log in to your EU-Login account).

Access your EU Login at https://webgate.ec.europa.eu/cas/login (don't click a link/button that leads to AGM)

Authenticate with simple password authentication (under Choose your verification method):

After authentication, move the mouse over the gear at the top right corner to display the menu and select My Account:

Click Delete all my devices and eID (PANIC)

Add your new phone by clicking Manage my mobile devices.

How to change the e-mail address or name in my EU LOGIN account?

Update your existing EU-Login account (don't create a new EU-Login account).

Access your EU Login at https://webgate.ec.europa.eu/cas/login

How to use two factor authentication with my mobile phone?

Logging in to AGM requires two factor authentication. Register your mobile in your EU-Login account. Move the mouse over the gear at the top right corner to display the menu and select My Account. Click on Manage my mobile devices and follow the instructions. For a step-by-step description check the EU-Login user guide.

For troubleshooting tips, check the EU-Login help pages.

I can login, but I cannot see my meeting data

Your user ID is your identity. You must always use the same EU-Login account as the one you initially used to accept the meeting.

Logging in with an e-ID creates a new user ID (starting with "v"). For example, if you activated an ID related to your password and EU Login app, but instead authenticate with an e-ID, you will not see any meeting data. However, it is possible to reconcile the new account ID.

If your email address changes, do not create a new EU-Login account for the new address. Instead, update your email address in the EU-Login account you have been using. The steps are explained here.

Fore more information, see the Access issues page.

Where can I see my EU-Login user ID?
